Pilipili expands management and offerings

Mathias Deswarte and Lukas Costeur are buying into Pilipili. In doing so, the product design agency expands its expertise. The plan: to be a strategic partner for design and innovation. In other words: in addition to product design, you call Pilipili for everything from engineering to marketing, right down to the unboxing.

Mathias Deswarte (35) started his career as a consultant and project manager for several e-commerce companies. Afterwards, he worked for several years as a digital lead and strategic director at a full-service communications agency. That experience in turn was the basis for Pacemakers, a consulting firm that helps brands fine-tune their branding and marketing. Deswarte founded it together with Lukas Costeur.

And the same Lukas Costeur (38) now also joins Pilipili, as partner and creative director. Lukas, by the way, is no stranger there. After completing his studies, he did an internship at Pilipili, leaving him for fourteen years as a product designer with the company. After a detour via Pacemakers, Lukas now returns home.

Costeur: "The next logical step for Mathias and I was to build our own team. When we were allowed to take on the branding of Pilipili, we immediately felt that this collaboration was right. Then the cogs started turning."

Joining the two newcomers Steven Dehollander (57), design thinker and founder of Pilipili. He founded the company in 1996 and has since built it into a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers and project managers.

Pilipili is a full-service product design agency based in Kortrijk, Belgium. They invent, design and develop products that truly make lives better. Think weaving machines for Picanol and printers for Labelmate. The arrival of Mathias Deswarte and Lukas Costeur expands not only the management, but also the services offered by the company: strategy, branding and brand experience are added.

Our job? Shaping new ideas. The complex, challenging ones that require a team of experts at the table. To ask the tough questions, dig deep for answers, or bring entirely new questions to the surface. Because when we do something, we do it thoroughly.
