What began with a request to make a weaving machine more beautiful has become a valuable collaboration, year after year.
Today, after more than twenty-five years and fifteen machines, Picanol and pilipili can safely say they have a match.

Every four years the iconic company Picanol releases a new loom, so every four years they compete - with themselves first and foremost - to produce even better quality. Innovation is the key word because you don't stay at the top by doing more of the same.
The four-year cycle always starts with everyone around the table, Picanol with their expertise in looms, us with our expertise in design and user experience. Expertise that has greatly increased in both over the past twenty-five years and with which we have also infected each other. This cross-pollination has only made collaboration and mutual understanding easier. We speak the same language by now.
Pilipili gets inspired daily by new technology, new techniques or innovations from other sectors that we then want to apply or test on Picanol's machines. In addition to Picanol's wish list, we also consider innovations in connectivity, design or materials.
The research, designs and prototypes developed by pilipili are scrutinized by Picanol, tested for technical feasibility and subjected to budgetary considerations. After feedback, we then go back to work to finally go into production with the most efficient and elegant solutions.
Testing is crucial, especially given the complexity and speed at which these machines must operate accurately. This makes ensuring consistent quality an intensive process.
Fortunately, Picanol's team, together with Pilipili's expertise, thinks about every detail. Customer and user feedback is systematically collected at every cycle so that every improvement really makes a difference for all users.
The demand for new features, techniques and variations grows with each cycle. Every edition is a challenge to combine all the needs and requirements into a new design. Not only does the work environment change over the years, but regulations, technology and user needs are constantly evolving.
Will you go through our Picanol oeuvre with us?
Beauty and looms, do they go together? Absolutely.
Right from the start of this collaboration, we have been focusing together on aesthetics, because during the grand launch of the new machine, the eye wants something too. This is how we help Picanol to put itself on the map and stand out generation after generation.
