Things can get wild in the bedroom in many different ways. Fortunately, there is Revor Bedding, a thoroughly Belgian manufacturer of sturdy sleep products. They wanted to expand their offerings with a modern classic. Enter Pilipili.
During the process, the circular principle "Design for Disassembly" was adhered to. This maximizes economic value but minimizes environmental impact.
We do this by already thinking about repair, reuse and recycling during the creation process. The fact that the frame of FRED is constructed from a mono-material, namely ultralight aluminum, is a good example of this.
But what good is an ecological and elegant bed frame if you don't get it assembled? Indeed: nougat balls. That's why the focus during design was on easy installation.
This was only reinforced by our choice of aluminum, which is not only light, but also very strong. Like freshly laundered sheets on a mighty mattress, FRED is also modular and thus completely ready for any add-ons in the future.
The clear briefing with the concise core idea of "a fresh approach" eventually led to FRED, an extraordinary bed frame that effortlessly brings together elegance, sturdiness and functionality. And that's no hot air, because the design came as winner out during the DesignX50 Awards.
